THE VIRGIN SHALL CONCEIVE

THE VIRGIN SHALL CONCEIVE

Anglican Morning Devotion for 22 December 2021 Anno Domini

a ministry of the Anglican Orthodox Communion Worldwide

Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” (Isaiah 7:14; all scripture quoted is from the King James Version, unless otherwise cited)

Some of the modern theological revisionists have doubts of the pure Word of God and attempt to engineer the miraculous Virgin birth out of Scripture, for example, this text from the same passage above comes from the corrupt New Revised Standard Bible: “Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Look, the young woman is with child and shall bear a son, and shall name him Immanuel.” (Isaiah 7:14: NRSV) We all know that ‘young woman’ can describe someone other than a Virgin. The new versions at many points attempt to demean the nature of our Lord as the very Son of God. Jesus keeps getting in their way in the drive to establish a one-world religion in which there is neither room for Jesus nor His Father, for there is no recognition of the Father without the Son.

Mary was the special vessel chosen by God as the mother of Jesus Christ in the incarnation. Of course, Jesus existed as God the Son from Eternity past and therefore not the son of Mary as God, but in the flesh. Mary, in no sense, is the Mother of God , or the Co-Redemptress, as the Roman Church attempts to claim. Mary was a righteous young woman but not perfect in righteousness as no person born on earth is perfect in righteousness. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23) That verse, in so far as I can tell, makes no exception for the blessed Mary – a lady worthy of our veneration – “ respect or awe inspired by the dignity, wisdom, dedication, or talent of a person.” (Webster’s Dictionary)
